Measurements of parameters of dielectric windows of the Tesla linear collider resonators

Description
Paper presents calculation results and describes a facility to determine dielectric constants and tangent of the loss angle for ceramic specimens. One applied the well-known technique to determine dielectric constants on the basis of measurements of frequency and quality factor of resonators when placing the investigated specimens into them. One measured cylindric shape ceramic specimens with ε = 8-10 dielectric constant and tg δ (2-4) x 10-4 loss angle tangent. The conducted measurements of various specimens showed that it was possible to determine dielectric constant with relative error constituting 1.5% and loss angle tangent - 7%
Abstract (Russian)
Приведены результаты расчетов и описана установка для определения диэлектрической постоянной и тангенса угла потерь керамических образцов. Использована известная методика определения диэлектрических постоянных на основе измерений частоты и добротности резонаторов при введении в них исследуемых образцов. Измерялись керамические образцы цилиндрической формы с диэлектрической постоянной ε = 8-10 и тангенсом угла потерь tg δ = (2-4) x 10-4. Проведенные измерения на различных образцах показали, что можно определять диэлектрическую постоянную с относительной погрешностью 1,5%, тангенс угла потерь - 7%Additional details
