X ray production cross sections

Creators

  • 1. California Univ., Livermore (USA). Lawrence Livermore Lab.

Description

The total L X-ray production cross sections in P, S, Cl, Ar and K-Ar collisions are reported. A dramatic Z-dependence is observed. The Z-dependence is tentatively explained in terms of changes in fluorescence yield and the properties of the 4f sigma molecular orbital.
