Radiometric emanation method in characterization of inorganic sorbents used for treatment of gaseous and liquid radioactive waste
Description
An overview is given of experimental work carried out in the Nuclear Research Institute in the following fields: (1) Removal of RuO4 vapors by inorganic sorbents; (2) Thermal behavior of natural clinoptilolite used for removal of RuO4; and (3) Removal of toxic radionuclides from liquid nuclear waste originating in a nuclear power plant accident, and treatment of spent inorganic sorbents. A programme for the future is outlined taking into account the results achieved, previous experience and practical needs. (J.B.) 4 tabs., 7 figs., 11 refs
