Symmetry breaking in the spectrum generating group and its experimental tests

Description

The theoretical assumptions of the Spectrum Generating Groups (SGG) are explained in detail and then the theory is applied to the hyperon semileptonic decays and the hyperon magnetic moments. It is shown that all experimental data can be explained in the SGG frame but there are some serious discrepancies in the standard Cabibbo model. It is explained how the mass splitting in the octet is taken consistently into account by the SGG
