Inorganic pollutants in the Brno creeks

This work is focused on documentation and better understanding of levels of creeks' contamination on southern border of Brno agglomeration. Study is dealing with pollutants, their consecutive analysis and evaluation. The work summarizes the theoretical knowledge of geology and hydrogeology of studied area. The practical part describes forms of processing with collected sediments and their consecutive analysis. The direct attention in evaluating is focused on potentially dangerous inorganic contaminant as lead, zinc, chrome, copper and arsenic. Results of analysis point at high level of contamination at Ivanovicky potok in industrial area - Brno-Slatina and slightly increased level of contamination at Cernovicky potok. The results of RFA and TOC analyses were examined and outputs were modified into the form of graphs and tables. The results yielded an overview of the current state of creeks' contamination in area and the possibility of their further use. (author)
