Beryllium fabrication techniques and their related applications
Description
Several recently fabricated space structures are reviewed which employ high strength wrought beryllium sheet. Physical hardware produced involving long (84'') beryllium booms, ultra lightweight, hermetic tight camera housings and honeycomb instrument panels are discussed. Other selected hardware is reviewed showing basic design options of end fittings, close outs and hermetic seals between beryllium and non-beryllium components. (32 fig) (U.S.)
