Rare earth salts as thermostabilizators of cellulose acetate
- 1. Saratovskij Gosudarstvennyj Univ. (USSR)
Description
Effect of rare earths on thermooxidative destruction of cellulose secondary acetate is studied using as an example salts of organic acids of lanthanum, gadolinium, ytterbium. Using the complex of investigation methods a stabilizing effect of the salts on elementary link and macromolecule on the whole of partially decalcified cellulose secondary acetate is detected. It is shown that efficiency of stabilizing effect of the salts depends on chemical properties of rare earth atoms. Treatment with salt solutions affects the destruction kinetics of macromolecular chain and polymer decomposition
