Influence of aluminium and tin on the mechanism of hydridation of LaNi5-based intermetallic compounds

Description
Interaction of hydrogen with intermetallides LaNi5-xMx (M=Al, x=0.1, 0.25; M=Sn, x=0.1, 0.2) was studied using the calorimetric titration technique. Based on the formal kinetic approach and x-ray diffraction data a probable mechanism was proposed for hydrogenation of the intermetallides studied in the temperature range of 308-353 K. It is shown that formation of α-solid solution phase in all the intermetallide-hydrogen systems studied takes place according to a similar mechanism, while the mechanism of β-hydride phase nucleation and growth changes dramatically when the content of the main group metal increases

С помощью методики калориметрического титрования изучено взаимодействие водорода с интерметаллидами (ИМ) на основе LaNi5-xMx (M=Al, x=0.1, 0.25; M=Sn, x=0.1, 0.2). На основе формально-кинетического подхода и результатов рентгенофазового анализа предложен механизм гидрирования исследованных ИМ в интервале температур 308-353 К. Показано, что образование фазы α-твердого раствора во всех исследованных системах ИМ - водород протекает по сходному механизму, а механизм образования и роста зародышей β-гидрида кардинальным образом изменяется при повышении содержания непереходного металлаAdditional details
