Triple-axis instrument with doubly focusing (''zoom'') monochromator and horizontally focusing analyser: seven years experience
Description
The experience gained with a triple-axis spectrometer equipped with a doubly focusing monochromator with variable horizontal and vertical curvature and with a horizontally focusing analyser is presented. The performance of the instrument is demonstrated by comparing one-phonon maxima, measured with different instrumental configurations on a small copper single crystal. Intensity gains, peak positions and peak half widths are discussed and compared with resolution calculations. (orig.)
