Standardization of X-ray examination for Crohn's disease
Description
A patient population of 322 subjects with verified Crohn's disease were examined by X-rays of the stomach with small bowel follow through, colon barium enema studies, and fistulography, which were standardized to optimize diagnosis and follow-up observation of the disease course. The standardization of these procedures ensures the greatest specifity in the diagnosis, and the greatest information yield, reproducibility and possibility of comparison, as well as the least burden to the patient, which is possible using these examinations. Anhand eines Krankengutes von 322 Patienten mit gesichertem Morbus Crohn wurde fuer die Diagnostik und Verlaufsbeobachtung die Durchfuehrung der Magen-Duenndarmpassage, des Kolonkontrasteinlaufes und der Fistulographie standardisiert. Dadurch wurden eine groesstmoegliche Spezifitaet, ein groesstmoeglicher Informationsumfang, eine groesstmoegliche Reproduzierbarkeit und Vergleichbarkeit sowie eine geringstmoegliche Patientenbelastung dieser Untersuchungen erreicht.
