Effect of vibrogrinding on the properties of tungsten powders and quality of sintered billets

Description

A possibility to attain properties similar to those of powder mixture of low-active and igh-active tungsten, which ensure the obtaining of deformed sintered intermediate products by means of vibrotreatment of low-active tungsten powder (LTP), has been studied. The powders are treated in hydrostatic press, sintering and heating for hot deformation is realized in hydrogen atmosphere. Intermediate products obtained from LTP after grinding for 180 min with balls 6-7 and 15 mm in diameter are characterized by sufficient density for deformation and they are satisfactorily deformed during rolling as well as sintered intermediate products of molybdenum-tungsten alloy obtained using ground tungsten powder. A conclusion is made on the possibility of the obtaining of intermediate products of tungsten and molybdenum-tungsten alloy using vibrogrinding of LTP without additions of high-active powder or with a considerable decrease of their consumption mass
