Energy research for the next century
Description
The paper presents the following theses: 1. Energy politics in the Federal Republic of Germany faces new challenges. 2. The seemingly relaxed situation on the energy markets and the supply situation in Germany are deceptive. 3. Research and technological development have to create the preconditions for an efficient and rational implementation of concepts of energy politics. 4. Research and development cannot substitute energy politics. The fact that only joint programmes of the industry and the government can successfully master the challenges of energy politic is true throughout but especially for the field of nuclear energy. There is a joint responsibility which means that the load has to be distributed to all the shoulders. Now is the time to start the necessary dialogue, now is the time to work out concepts. Abstract (German)
Der Vortrag hat folgende Leitsaetze: 1. Die Energiepolitik in der Bundesrepublik steht vor neuen Herausforderungen. 2. Die scheinbar entspannte Lage an den Energiemaerkten und die gesicherte Versorgungssituation in der Bundesrepublik taeuschen. 3. Forschung und technologische Entwicklung muessen die Voraussetzung fuer eine effiziente und rationelle Umsetzung energiepolitischer Konzepte schaffen. 4. Forschung und Entwicklung koennen die Energiepolitik aber nicht ersetzen. Nicht nur fuer die Kernenergie, aber dort besonders gilt, dass angesichts der energiepolitischen Herausforderungen nur gemeinsame Programme von Wirtschaft und Staat Erfolg versprechen. Es besteht eine gemeinsame Verantwortung, d.h. auch dass die Lasten auf alle Schultern verteilt werden muessen. Der notwendige Dialog muss jetzt beginnen, Konzepte muessen jetzt erarbeitet werden.
