Numerical modelling of scintillation variations from interplanetary disturbances

Description

The interpretation of interplanetary scintillation observations requires the use of models in order to deduce 3-D structures from observations of a line-of-sight integral of the scattering. In this paper a system of computer programs which can be used to calculate the enhancements or decrements of interplanetary scintillation caused by arbitrary interplanetary disturbances is described. A number of the resulting calculations are shown and an example of the application of the procedure to a real disturbance is given. (author)
