Prospective study of jobs and skills in the electricity sector. Electricity sector: how many jobs and skills for a successful energy transition? + Methodological note - Prospective study of the electricity sector + Round table of the 29 September 2020

Description

Notably based on studies performed with the collaboration of three French regions (Hauts-de-France with a focus on basic professional skills, Bretagne with a focus on cyber-safety, and PACA with a focus on professions in tension), this study aimed at proposing a situational overview and prediction of jobs through a quantitative analysis, at elaborating a map of professions in tension through a qualitative study, and at providing recommendations with respect to the sector stakes. The quantitative study contains a definition of the electric power sector, an assessment of its quantitative situation, projections of jobs by 2030, and presentations of some regional initiatives. The qualitative study identifies and analyses professions in tension, and reports some regional initiatives. The case of heat pumps in housing is reported in appendices which also propose lists of diploma and training programmes. A methodological note presents details of approaches and data related to the electric power system, to buildings (housing, office building, building related to transport activities), to industry (manufacturing installation and distribution of electric equipment), to infrastructures related to urban mobility (urban infrastructures, road transport, rail transport, urban transport, air transport, maritime transport). After a synthesis of quantitative diagnosis of the present situation, and a consistency review, projections of jobs of the electric power sector by 2030 are addressed (modelling principle, hypotheses, job assessment methodology)
