Separative ability of 4-methylbenzo-15-crown-5 to lithium isotopes
Description
The lithium isotope separation ability in extraction process of LiSCN with C6H5I solution containing 4-methylbenzo-15-crown-5(MB15C5) has been determined to be 2.6 x 10-2 at 15 deg C, which is the same as that determined by using 4-tert-butylbenzo-15-crown-5 (CR). The solubility of MB15C5 in C6H5I has been examined to be higher than that of CR. This advantage of MB15C5 provides a possibility to go on with the extraction in high concentration systems. An approach for regulating distribution coefficients and separation factors in these systems is discussed
