Ternary reciprocal system Tl2Te+Ge reversible 2Tl+GeTe

Description

The methods of DTA, RPA and e.m.f., as well as measurement of microhardness have been used to investigate the phase equilibria in the Tl2Te + Ge reversible 2Tl + GeTe system. It is established, that the boundary system Tl2Te-GeTe is the qu-- asibinary and characterized by formation of intermediate phases Tl8GeTe5 and Tl2GeTe2. The liquidus surface of the Tl2Te + Ge reversible 2Tl + GeTe system constitute, in the main, the region of initial crystallization of the solid solutions on the base of Ge, which in considerable concentration range proceeds along monotectic reaction. It is shown, that three phase regions Tl + Ge + Tl2Te; TL2Te + Tl8GeTe5 + Ge; TL8GeTe5 + Tl2GeTe2 + GeTl2GeTe + GeTe + Ge, delimited by conode lines Ge - Tl2Te(Tl8GeTe5, Tl2GeTe2) are extant below the solidus in the given system
