Weldability and heat treatment problems of steels for WWER reactor components

Description

A program was compiled for the study of weldability of steels 15Kh2MFA, 10GN2MFA, 20KhMA. A number of weldability indices may be calculated from the chemical composition of steels, metal thickness and main technological data (the type of joint, diffusion hydrogen content, intensity of rigidity, etc.). Data were calculated and tested on austenite decay diagrams and on bainitic or perlitic hardening of heat-affected zone. Weldability indices differ depending on a specific melt. The best indices were found for steel 10GN2MFA showing very good plasticity also at higher temperatures. (M.S.)
