Statement concerning the judgement of R. E. Webb about the nuclear explosion potential of the SNR-300

The report comments the statement of J. E. Webb about the nuclear explosion potential of the liquid metal cooled fast breeder reactor SNR-300 in Kalkar. The authors come to the conclusion that the statement cannot be considered as a serious contribution to the scientific discussion about the safety problematic of sodium cooled reactors. This is due to the, in most cases, wrong procedure and the insufficient knowledge of the author about the theoretical treatment of hypothetical accidents. No new arguments have been developed by Webb, which could call in question the up to now elaborated results for the SNR-300
