Aldosterone is a steroid hormone, which plays an important role in regulating blood pressure in the body. Radioiodinated aldosterone is one of the key reagents required to carry out radioimmunoassay of aldosterone for differential diagnosis of hypertension. Labelling of aldosterone with 125I has been detailed. (author)
