Charmed-baryon production in νD→μ-νX reactions
Description
Single ν production with no other strange particles in the final state is observed in charged-current neutrino interactions in the deuterium-filled 15-ft bubble chamber at Fermilab. This phenomenon is interpreted as a signal for inclusive production of charmed baryons followed by ν/sub c/+→ν+X decays. The total ν/sub c/+ cross section times branching ratio for this process is found to be (2.0 +- 0.74 +- 0.65)% of the total charged-current neutrino cross section
