Description

After an operational period of more than 40 years the Research Reactor FRJ-2 will be shut down in May 2006. Plannings for the decommissioning were started meanwhile. The characteristics of this compact heavy water cooled and moderated facility with a power of 23 MW, especially the fact of the high tritium activity and the highly activated top shield plug require specific measures for the health physics safety during the dismantling.
