Effect of crystal structure of the sorbent on the sorption of metal ions

Creators

Description

Sorption of metal ions by the mineral oxides have been found to be influenced by the crystal structure of the mineral oxide. Investigation of the molecular speciation of the sorbed species helps in understanding the mechanistic aspects of the sorption process and thereby predict the migration of the radionuclide in the geosphere. In the present paper, the literature review of the subject has been carried out followed by some data on Eu(III) sorption by anatase and rutile in absence and presence of citric acid will be presented.
