The Imperial college monopole detector

  • 1. Imperial College, London

Description

This chapter describes an inductive monopole detector with a simple superconducting coil arrangement consisting of one circular coil and two semi-circular D-shaped coils. Each of the three coils is coupled to a different Superconductive Quantum Interference Device (SQUID). The outputs of the three SQUIDs are analyzed using a small computer in real time using a bandwidth of up to 100 Hz. The outputs of the accelerometer, an ultra-sensitive low-noise magnetometer, RF-level indicator, temperature and pressure sensors are simultaneously monitored
