Description
We investigate non-Abelian bosonization for the case N = 2, for which the chiral model reduces to the Thirring model with an Abelian group. By application of Mandelstam's soliton operator we demonstrate that the boson-fermion correspondence as suggested by Witten is not entirely correct for N = 2 and derive correct formulas
