Description
Asymptotically exact (at l→∞) formulas for the wave functions are obtained. The formulas are valid for an arbitrary smooth potential V(r) including asymptotic coefficients at zero and at infinity. The accuracy of the formulas is studied for small quantum numbers. It is shown that for potentials commonly used in physics the accuracy is of about a few per cent even for the ground state (except for low-energy levels in short-range potentials)
