p-shell hypernuclei via (K-, π-), (π+, K+) and (stopped K-, π-) reactions

Description
Systematic analyses of the strangeness-changing reactions on p-shell targets (9Be, 10,11B, 12,13C and 14,15N) have been performed in DWIA and with the configuration-mixed shell-model wavefunctions. The recoil effects for the outgoing meson and nucleon and Λ in the nucleus are correctly taken into account. The quasi-free continuum part of the excitation function is approximated by smearing the calculated strengths leading to the shell-model states with Λ in the (1s, 0d)Λ and (1p, 0f)Λ orbits. For each target, the calculated excitation functions for the three reactions are compared, showing the useful and complementary roles in hypernuclear spectroscopy. By comparing the (K-, π-) peaks and (π+, K+) peaks in the same energy region, for example, for Λ12C, Λ13C and Λ14N, respectively, typical energy shifts are predicted because of the change of attributable J-structures. The angular distributions of the differential cross sections are also presented for the prominent peaks with the discussion of the absolute values and the recoil effects. The (stopped K-, π-) reaction results also in well-separated peaks in the bound-state region in Λ10B, Λ12C and Λ13C. The present calculations not only give reasonable explanations on the existing experimental data but also present the detailed theoretical predictions on the p-shell hypernuclear structures with A≥10.
