Description
A summary is given of some work done at the Los Alamos Scientific Laboratory which may be relevant to the heavy-ion fusion program. Limits on beam current and emittance in proton or heavy ion linear accelerators may be calculated by determining equilibrium phase distributions. This is a matching procedure which takes into account space charge forces
