Salt Pump Loop
Description
An instrumented loop of type 304 stainless steel in which molten chloride salt is circulated has been constructed and operated. The purposes of operating this equipment are to investigate the feasibility of pumping liquid salts with a centrifugal pump, to test the equipment and various instruments, and to determine whether pumped salt loops are suitable for pilotplant and plant-scale use.
