Indigenously developed water phantom and new type of multipurpose patient measuring device for beam therapy

Description
The prime aim of medical physicist in a radiotherapy center is to make attempts to execute the prescribed dose to cancer patients as accurate as possible using all his/her expertise and available resources. Due to non availability of funds in our country quite a few institute can afford to have expensive sophisticated radiation dosimetry and treatment accessories to maintain the quality treatment with international norms. We have attempted to develop 30 cm x 30cm x 30cm water phantom for routine calibration of our cobalt machine and a new type of caliper device for patient measurements and verification with better accuracy as compared to conventionally used caliper in radiotherapy
