Description
Fragmentation of strength of M1 transition in light nuclei is analytically studied in the SU(3) basis of functions which depend on the variables describing the motion of the nucleons in the non-closed p-shell. The necessity to extend the basis beyond the leading SU(3) representation is shown. (author)
