Infrared spectroscopy investigation of interaction between vanadium oxytrichloride and tributhyl phosphate
- 1. AN Kazakhskoj SSR, Alma-Ata (USSR). Inst. Metallurgii i Obogashcheniya
Description
IR absorption spectra of a series of isomolar vanadium oxychloride solutions in tributylphosphate and organic solutions containing water and hydrochloric acid are considered to obtain information on the composition and structure of solvates and hydrate-solvates formed during vanadium oxytrichloride interaction with tributylphosphate. VOCl3 interaction with tributylphosphate takes place according to the solvation mechanism due to donor-acceptor bonds while in the presence of water and hydrochloric acid the interaction mechanism changes and becomes a hydration-solvation one. The data obtained permit to select optimum regimes which envisage maximum vanadium extraction
