Description

X-ray structural study of low-temperature (170 K) phase of cesium tetrachloromercurate (a=7.519(1), b=9.722(1), c=26.759(4) A; α=89.97(5), β=90.10(1.), γ=90.11(5.) deg., sp. gr. P1; Z=8) is carried out. Cell symmetry decrease by phase transfer in the area of 172 K occurs basically on account of tetrahedron (HgCl4)2- high deformation; Hg and Cs subcells practically do not change. Measurement results of crystal piezoelectrical properties are also presented
