Description

46Sc excretion-promoting effect of DTPA and 811 in rats was reported. The results showed that a change in the excretion route and an increase in the amount of excretion were observed, and some changes in the half-life of 46Sc-DTPA and 46Sc-811 took place acoordingly. Excretion of 46Sc from urine was substituted for the ordinary excretion route from the gastrointestinal tract. When compared with the control, both DTPA and 811 shortened the fast elimination phase of the biological half-life of 46Sc by 2.4 days (4.9 days for the control group), and the intermediate elimination phase by 2.77 and 4.9 days respectively (9.4 days for the control group). However, the slow elimination phase extended over 7.6 and 8.6 days respectively (18 days for the control group). Thus the authors believed that earlier intramuscular injection of DTPA and 811 will play an excellent role in promoting the exceretion of 46Sc in rats, and DTPA is better than 811
