Secretary of State's guidance - waste derived fuel burning processes less than 3MW net rated thermal input

This note is issued by the Secretary of State as a guide to local authorities on the techniques appropriate for the control of air pollution in relation to waste derived fuel burning processes in order to achieve the objective set down in section 7(2)(a) of the Environmental Protection Act 1990. This note comprises guidance in relation to new and existing processes and is based on an assessment of best available techniques as qualified by the requirement not to entail excessive cost. This note also (where appropriate) gives information about any directions, limits, requirements, quality standards or quality objectives which were in force on the date of publication and which must be complied with in carrying on these processes, in accordance with section 7(2)(b) and (c) of the Act.
