Stability study of liquid films with wall heat flux and interfacial phase change

Description

The linear stability of a liquid film flowing over a plane with wall heat flux and interfacial phase change is studied. Two different studies are made, the first for the flow with a preexisting film and the second for a condensation film flow. The film thickness variation induced by the phase change is taken into account. The influence of the phase change on the flow stability is studied (stabilisation for condensation, destabilisation for evaporation), as well as the influence of the film thickness variation (stabilisation for evaporation, destabilisation for condensation)

Abstract (French)

La stabilite lineaire de l'ecoulement d'un film liquide sur une paroi plane avec flux de chaleur a la paroi et changement de phase a l'interface est etudiee. Deux etudes separees sont faites selon qu'il s'agit de l'ecoulement avec un film preexistant ou de l'ecoulement d'un film de condensation. On tient compte dans les deux cas de la variation d'epaisseur du film due au changement de phase. L'effet du changement de phase sur la stabilite est mis en evidence (stabilisation pour la condensation, destabilisation pour l'evaporation), ainsi que l'influence de la variation d'epaisseur du film (stabilisation pour l'evaporation, destabilisation pour la condensation)
