Catalytic hydrolysis of [B10H10]2- and [B12H12]2- ions

Description
Decomposition kinetics of [B10H10]2- and [B12H12]2- polyhedron boron-hydrogen ions by water at presence of heterogeneous catalysts is studied. Stages determining rate of hydrolysis of the given ions are shown to occur on catalysts surface. On the basis of comparison of experimental data obtained using potentiometrical and volumometrical techniques one suggests possible model of catalytic hydrolysis mechanism of [B10H10]2- and [B12H12]2-
