Reliability account when choosing the number of turbine plants in the WWER NPP units
Description
Effect of the number of turbines in the WWER NPP unit on changing annular power losses due to the unit failure is estimated. Units with a single (a mono-unit) and two (double-unit) turbines are considered. Power losses are calculated for both turbine failures only, and for reactor dountime due to iodine poisoning resulted from the turbine failure. Analysis showed that the double-unit structure possessed higher reliability, but required larger capital outlays, that made optimal the mono-unit structure
