We check the hypothesis of lattice universality recently put forward by Makeenko, Polikarpov and Zhelokin using our Monte Carlo data for the mean plaquette, the mean plaquette squared and the mass gap in a lattice gauge theory with mixed fundamental adjoint action. (orig.)
