IRAS 07027 - 7934: a probable new [WC11] star

  • 1. South African Astronomical Observatory, Cape Town (South Africa)
  • 2. Royal Observatory, Edinburgh (UK)

Description

The IRAS source 07027-7934 has been found to have a nebular spectrum together with emission lines of C II and C III superimposed on a weak continuum. The infrared and optical characteristics closely resemble those of He2-113 and CPD-5608032 which are classified as [WC11] objects, i.e., a planetary nebula with a very cool Wolf-Rayet central star.
