Feedback from freeze-out in hydrodynamics

  • 1. Center for Nuclear Research, Department of Physics Kent State University, Kent (United States)

Description

Most hydrodynamical calculations used in heavy-ion physics ignore the effect of freeze-out matter carrying energy and momentum away from the expanding fluid. In a simple one-dimensional model the calculated energy density and velocity profiles with and without interaction between fluidlike and freeze-out parts of the system are compared in order to estimate the importance of this effect.
