Description
A substance of standard purity up to 99.99%, obtained in the process of thermal hydrolysis, is used for the manufacture of the most transparent glasses, for use in electronics, fiber optics, medicine and piezoelectric ceramics. To meet the widespread consumer demand, titanium dioxide can be produced as a pigment dye in several different fractions, adapted for a specific application, which determines the size of the crystals and the type of surface treatment (organic or inorganic). In industry, titanium white is used for the manufacture of paints and varnishes with improved covering properties, which protects painted surfaces from the action of ultraviolet radiation, aging and yellowing of the film. They are also added to plastic products (window structures, parts of furniture, household appliances and cars), which, in addition to imparting high intensity to white, increases their resistance to negative influences. In the production of ceramics, glass and rubber, titanium dioxide is often used as a catalyst for chemical reactions or an inert base material, which makes possible to operate products that are resistant to ink fading.
