Study of the expansion of a plasma produced by selective photoionization

  • 1. Centro Tecnico Aeroespacial (CTA-IEAv), Sao Jose dos Campos, SP (Brazil). Inst. de Estudos Avancados

Description

A simple fluid model, which neglects electron's inertia, has been developed to study the expansion of a 235 U plasma formed by laser photoionization between electrically biased plane electrodes. As an example, the evolution of a plasma with initial density of 1016 m-3, electron temperature of 1 eV and bias potential of 200 V is discussed. (author)
