On the structural instability of LaAgsub(x)Insub(1-x) alloys
Description
Elastic constant measurements for the LaAgsub(x)Insub(1-x) system are presented. For large x(x approximately 0.9) the strong softening of the c11 -c12 mode can be quantitatively interpreted with a strain-5d band deformation potential coupling. For smaller x(x <= 0.8) strong strain-internal displacement coupling seem to be important. (author)
