Fluxes and exchange rates of radon and oxygen across an air-sea interface
Description
The flux of 222Rn and O2 from shallow water off the Bay of Malaga has been measured. The mean value of flux of 222Rn is evaluated to be 74 atoms/m2 · s. The Bay is a weak source of oxygen to the atmosphere, where the net production of oxygen is found to be 1.82 mol/m2 · y. Moreover, the gas exchange rates of 222Rn and O2 across the air-sea interface has been determined by the radon method. The gas exchange rates and the wind speed have been estimated. (author)
