The challenge pendulum of NPP simulators
Description
The training simulators that the US Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) had acquired are typical of the late 1970s and were limited by computer constraints. The NRC mandated that utilities certify their own simulators by 1991. The challenge shifted to the utility; upgrade the old or acquire a new simulator. The NRC selected the RETACK Code (S3 Technologies). 3 refs
