CP violating asymmetries in Bs decays into Λ

  • 1. California Univ., Los Angeles (USA). Dept. of Physics

Description

Decay modes such as Bs → Λanti Λ, Λanti Λπ, Λanti Λρ are rather unique among baryonic B decays in having only one isospin amplitude. The Λanti Λ mode has the additional bonus of having, in the standard model, no phase difference between its s and p partial waves. Rates, governed by a loop process, are estimated to be a few times 10-5 and around 10-4, for two- and three-body final states, respectively. The CP violating rate asymmetries are given by loop-tree interference and may reach 7%. The Λ polarization and the CP violating asymmetries in the polarization between Bs and anti Bs decays, will serve as an additional tool to study decay mechanisms and to discriminate among models of CP violation.
