Phase ratios in polythermal cross section Y2BaCuO5-CuO of ternaryu system Y2O3-BaOCuO

Description

Using the methods of annealing and tempering, X-ray phase, differential thermal and crystallooptical analyses in the air in the range of temperatures from 900 to 1400 deg C phase relations in the cross section Y2BaCuO5-CuO of ternary system Y2O3-BaO-CuO were studied. The cross section investigated is reffered to eutectic-peritectic type and it is characterized by complex phase relations in high-temperature part of the cross section. Owing to instability at high temperatures of chemical compounds containing bivalent copper (Y2BaCuO5, Y2Cu2O5, CuO) two variants of the cross section polythermal cut are plotted. On the diagram plotted by the results of DTA temperature boundaries of phase field existence are overstated as compared with the data of annealing and tempering method
