Double beta decay of 100Mo and 150Nd
- 1. Univ. of California, Irvine (United States)
Description
The central role of the neutrino in particle physics, astrophysics and cosmology, makes its behavior a topic of wide general interest. The shape of the double beta decay energy spectrum is a sensitive probe of neutrino properties such as mass, particle-antiparticle identity, and possible coupling to new particles. 100Mo and 150Nd are two ββ-unstable isotopes with high transition energies and relatively fast decay rates with good discrimination against background. Their spectra as measured in an underground time projection chamber are presented
