Improved divertor performance with biasing on the TdeV tokamak

Description
Divertor plate biasing is used to increase the E x B flux in the scrape-off layer. This augments significantly the pressure in the divertor chamber and improves impurity retention, as demonstrated with injected impurities (Ne and He). Using modest cryosorption pumping in the divertor, He and Ne removal is also demonstrated, taking advantage of the higher throughout provided by biasing. (author). 10 refs, 5 figs
