A distributed control and data base system for the production of high quality crystals
Creators
- 1. European Organization for Nuclear Research (CERN), Geneva (Switzerland)
Description
The construction of the high precision crystal electromagnetic calorimeter of the CMS experiment at LHC will require about 3 production factories and 4 assembly sites spread over the world, and will last 5 to 6 years. A quality control scheme will have to be setup to achieve the required performances. It will imposes methods like the ISO 9000 quality insurance scheme, and the use ob object-oriented database for storing the information, with a query and control system based on W3 to make the analysis accessible to any member of the world-wide collaboration.
